OKC insurance producer’s license revoked for fraud, OID officials say

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) on Friday announced it had revoked an Oklahoma producer license after an OID investigation.

OID officials say their office received a complaint regarding Oklahoma producer license holder Brent Carter in connection with providing fraudulent insurance documents.

During a show-cause hearing on December 10, the hearing officer determined Carter violated the state law:

  1. selling
  2. soliciting or negotiating insurance without a valid license
  3. accepting insurance premiums without remitting the funds to the appropriate insurance company
  4. misrepresenting himself as a licensed insurance producer; and providing false insurance documents that led an insured individual to believe they had coverage when they did not

OID says Carter was issued a $1,000 fine and had his license revoked and the ability to gain licensure removed…
