Oklahomans donate hundreds of fans to help families stay cool this summer

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Dozens of families in need will be a little bit cooler this summer thanks to the generosity of Oklahomans.

Each summer, the Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma teams up with Westlake Ace Hardware to host a box fan donation.

“We’ve already almost touched 100 degrees already this year, so it’s going to be a hot summer and there are families right here in our backyard that don’t have air conditioning or their air conditioning breaks, and they don’t have the funds or the means to take care of that. So, the customers here at Ace and this community really just rallies around and is going to make sure those families have a way to cool down when it gets really hot outside,” said Major Paul Ryerson, area commander for the Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma…
