EL RENO, Okla. — After spending nearly his entire life in an Oklahoma rescue shelter, a dog named Bandit is getting a second chance.
The 2-year-old mixed breed left El Reno Regional Airport on Thursday aboard a volunteer flight to Colorado. There, he’ll be transferred to a rescue near Denver with hopes of finding a permanent home.
The flight comes as shelters across Oklahoma continue to battle overcrowding. Many rescues are now turning to out-of-state partners where there’s more space and greater demand for adoptions…
