OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (KFOR) — A previously filed complaint with the Oklahoma Ethics Commission against former State Superintendent Ryan Walters has now been dismissed.
The controversy started in March 2025 when Walters sent out a press release with the headline:“Walters Touts Alternative to Woke Teachers’ Unions”, telling them to join the Teacher Freedom Alliance.

Then, an email was sent to Oklahoma public school parents, also promoting the same group.
Those communications caught the attention of Oklahoma City Democratic Representative Ellen Pogemiller. So, she asked the Oklahoma Ethics Commission to look into it…
