POWESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa — Authorities have identified the man who was struck and killed by a semi in Poweshiek County last week.
During the early morning hours on July 10, the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting a pedestrian had been struck by a semi in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near mile marker 198. The caller also reported that the man had been standing on the fog line.

When deputies responded to the area, they located the semi parked on the side of the road. Deputies searched the area around the semi and located a man, dead, in the ditch.
