Non-profit founder allegedly texted about buying and distributing drugs

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — New text messages from a search warrant revealed in the case of an Oklahoma non-profit founder and those arrested alongside her.

“It enrages me. I mean, good faith Oklahomans and others donated to this charity,” said Gentner Drummond, (R) Attorney General.

The court documents reveal text messages between Jennifer Roberts, friends and family, about allegedly buying and distributing drugs. The messages include discussions about dropping them off at her nursery.

Roberts founded OKC City Crisis Nursery, which helped kids and families in crisis.

Now she and eight others face felony charges, including her brother.”It was troubling,” said AG Drummond. “One that she was the sole person affiliated with this nonprofit, that the board of directors was populated by one person, her, and that there was no accounting, and as we follow the money, it looked as though, oh, my goodness, there she’s been friends and family and she’s spending money on herself. Of course, then rises to a level of a criminal action.”…
