Each week, Oklahoma Today staffers comb through their calendars to find a handful of great events happening across the state. Get out! See Oklahoma! And be sure to let us know what you find, either here or on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @oklahomatoday.
An Oklahoma tradition unlike any other is back! The Oklahoma State Fair brings food, rides, entertainment, competition, and irreplicable vibes back to OKC Fair Park September 17-27. The aforementioned food is always a key attraction: This year promises delicacies like Mango Bourbon Pork Ribs by Chef Andrew Black, Birria Ramen, Cookie Butter Cheesecake Bites on a Stick, Pickle Dr. Pepper, and more wild creations. Just don’t fill yourself up too much before hopping on any of those rides.
It might not be your first rodeo, but you probably haven’t been to one like this before. The Red River Ranch Roundup puts teams in true ranch-work competitions, including wild cow milking, steer gathering, cattle loading, and chuckwagon cooking. Kids get in on the action too, competing in mutton bustin’, nickel toss, and steer riding. It all goes down this Friday and Saturday at Claud Gill Arena in Duncan.
September 18-19. Tickets, $6-$12. facebook.com…
