2 killed in separate scooter crashes within 24 hours in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Police Department is urging scooter riders and motorists to use heightened caution after two fatal incidents involving electric scooters within 24 hours.

Police said the incidents occurred in areas that typically do not see high levels of pedestrian or scooter traffic.

“We want to remind everyone that visibility is one of the most critical factors in preventing collisions,” Police Capt. Benjamin Weir said. “Scooter riders should wear highly visible or reflective clothing and remain especially mindful when traveling through areas where drivers may not expect to see them.”…
