OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — The aftermath of the winter weather is affecting roads in parts of Logan County. Rain turned dirt roads into a muddy mess. It even forced school bus drivers to change their routes to avoid getting stuck.
“Our county roads, especially on the south end of our county, are really clay-packed and don’t have a lot of gravel to them. Population’s a little bit sparse out that direction, so they’re not well-maintained,” said Colby Cagle, the Superintendent of Coyle Schools.

Dirt roads throughout Logan County are leaving cars and trucks covered in mud.
“You spend a lot of money on trucks and cars and horse trailers and things like that. The repairs are pretty great to pay them after driving these roads for several months,” said Barry Butler, who lives in Logan County District 2.
Now it’s impacting bus drivers in the Coyle School District.
“Our high school principal, Shane weathers, went out and rescued a bus this morning, pulled him out. We were lucky enough that we had a couple of local farmers that had tractors that could kind of hook up and get us up the hill or get us turned around so that we could try to finish what we could bus route wise,” said Cagle.
