OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Illegal dumping in Oklahoma City is an on-going problem. Resident Donnie Johnson says around his house, these issues have been persistent for years.
When he called the Oklahoma City Police Department, they said there is really nothing they can do unless he had pictures or video of the people who did it. So, Donnie went out and bought cameras to catch the next person who would try to dump trash around his home.
“It’s frustrating, it actually is,” Johnson said. “I don’t understand why somebody thinks that anybody is going to want junk in their front yard.”
Donnie Johnson has lived at his house for decades. He loves it, but says one thing has remained consistent, people dumping trash around his house.
“It’s such a convenient place for people to come out and just unload a truckload of junk and not get caught,” Johnson said.
Johnson contacted OKCPD the last time someone dumped trash around his home, but they told him without any pictures or video of the dumpers, it is difficult for them to help.
