CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities say a 50-year-old Oklahoma City man died a day after a near drowning at Lake Thunderbird sent him to a hospital. An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states that Curtis Kaanapo was swimming at the Little Axe swim beach around 2:30 p.m. on Monday when he started to struggle and asked for help. A bystander pulled Kaanapo to shore, where CPR was started until park rangers and EMS arrived.
