Oklahoma’s kicker Tyler Keltner is making an impact after a two year hiatus

Oklahoma’s place kicker Tyler Keltner had a great game this week. He went 3-3 on field goals and even made a 50 yarder. He also successfully made six extra point kicks. Tyler was definitely part of the reason that Oklahoma beat Temple 51-3.

Tyler spoke to the media this week about his 50 yard field goal and how it felt to be back on the field in Norman.

First kick in two years to make a 50 yard field goal. How does it feel to see that first one going through?

Tyler: Man, it’s just nice to be playing again through all of the waiting then all of the work in the last two years. I truly feel like I’ve gotten a little bit better over the last two years. It was just fun to go out there and just have fun with it,

Any nerves at all coming in with 80,000 fans in the stadium? What was it like actually being on the field?

Tyler: You might not believe me but I get more nervous watching kickers on TV than me when I’m kicking by myself. When it’s me out there in a game, there’s a certain calmness that comes through. I’m just so confident in everybody and confident in what I do. I go out there and it’s just like pure bliss. It’s just the best feeling in the world.
