Josh Bates and the Sooners’ offensive line are eager to showcase their capabilities

After scoring just 16 points, the Sooners know they need to increase their overall offensive output, and need to do it soon. Lineman Josh Bates talked about this sense of urgency and how motivated his unit is to create opportunities for the offense.

What was the evaluation from Saturday’s game?

Josh: I think as a team and as a group we need to be better. I think offense line wise we showed flashes but then again we need to be way better in the moment. We need to be able to execute at a high level…that starts with me. It starts with all five of us up front and starts with everybody in that room. We need to be at our best and execute at a high level.

Unfortunately, offensive linemen only get notes when they struggle. How do you deal with that?

Josh: You just gotta know if you make a mistake, it’s the next play. That’s something I need to focus on now. I made that mistake, that last snap was terrible. It can’t happen again. It’s really inexcusable and I need to do better.

How did you feel it went with Jackson on Saturday?
