Oklahoma City-based Apple employees ratify contract; second store in nation to do so

Apple retail workers at the Penn Square Mall store have voted to ratify their first collectively bargained agreement, making it the second to win a unionized contract , according to a news release Tuesday.

Working with Communications Workers of America Local 6016, workers won a new three-year employment contract with the multi-billion corporation, improving pay, work-life balance and working conditions.

“It is exhilarating to finalize this bargaining process and know that after all the work we have done and all the obstacles that Apple has put in our way, we have finally secured the protection and improvements in pay and benefits we deserve,” Michael Forsythe, genius admin and Apple-Retail Union-CWA member, said in the release.

He added that he hopes this sets another example of how the “tens of thousands” of Apple retail workers can work together to create change in the workplace.
