Fred Jones Jr. Museum to charge adult admission fees

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art located on the University of Oklahoma campus is set to begin adult admission fees on October 1.

The decision was made after careful consideration and aligns with the museum’s mission to transform lives through art experiences.

According to museum officials , since 2012 the free admission to public welcomed thousands of visitors but due to increasing costs associated with maintaining operations, expanding programs and enhancing visitor experience the change was necessary.

Smith says. “I believe we can increase accessibility while also introducing an affordable admissions structure that will allow us to responsibly meet the needs of our audiences.”
