For the last two years, USA TODAY has called upon its food writers from across the nation to submit some of their favorite restaurants from their cities for consideration on a curated list of the best in the nation.
And for the last two years I am happy to say that my selections for Oklahoma City have made the cut , landing among the 44 restaurants chosen from among hundreds as part of the exclusive list.
Here are 10 more amazing Oklahoma City restaurants, in alphabetical order, worthy of Restaurant of the Year consideration. All of these restaurants meet the same qualifications that Restaurant of the Year honorees meet, they’re locally owned, have been open for at least six months and have something special they bring to the culinary community of our city.
Aurora, 1734 NW 16 St.
Aurora began as a neighborhood breakfast and brunch spot in OKC’s Plaza District, but recently Shared Plate Hospitality combined the concept with Social Deck + Dining, moved to a larger space and began serving dinner as well. Signature standouts on the dinner menu include the Turkish Egg, short rib and Louisiana red snapper, but don’t sleep on the breakfast and brunch options available daily…
