Fire crews knock down commercial fire in NW Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a commercial fire Thursday afternoon after first receiving reports of it being a car fire.

According to officials, fire crews responded to the fire near NW 23rd Street and May Avenue just after 1 p.m., and heavy smoke was seen coming from a converted gas station.

The building housed a body shop located in the back, and a convenience store in the front.

OKCFD says the fire was caused by unattended cooking. All occupants were evacuated before fire crews arrived and no injuries were reported…
