Man sentenced to life without parole for murdering wife in front of children

OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — A man who pleaded guilty to murdering his wife in front of her children five years ago was sentenced to life without parole Tuesday, as her family shared their pain and loss in an emotional courtroom scene. On Tuesday, Kendreen Jordan pleaded guilty to murdering his wife, Geneva Opperman, in 2020.

After hearing victim impact statements, a judge sentenced Jordan to life without parole Tuesday. Opperman was a mother of six and part of a tight-knit family, who said nothing can fill the gap she leaves behind.

Murder suspect learns fate less than a year after crime

Tuesday certainly was not an easy day for them. “We think about it every day. Cry every night,” said Cassandra Opperman, Geneva’s sister. “We’re all broken,” said Brenda Wright, Geneva’s aunt.

“She was my gift,” said Leola Scott, Gevena’s mother. “She’s still my gift and the gift that is continuing on my grandchildren.”…
