Local Cowboy Wins Big Money

BELLE FOURCHE—Imagine earning your share of $100,000 for just over 30 seconds of work. This past week Slone Weishaar, Belle Fourche and his team roping partner, Cannin Carson, Grassy Butte, ND pulled off this feat at the 2025 Wrangler Bob First Invitational Hooey Junior 10.5 Team Roping Championship at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Consistency paid off, after four rounds of roping and a total time of 30.71 seconds the duo slid into first place. Beating out 464 other teams—the largest Junior BFI in history—Weishaar and Carson were named 2025 Wrangler BFI Week Hooey Junior 10.5 Team Roping Champions!

This title came with a cash award of $100,000 to be split between the header and heeler. In addition to the cash, Weishaar won a prize package that included a Cactus Saddle, a Gist Buckle, a Hooey Backpack, a SMARTY Roping Super Shorty, Resistol Hat, a Best Ever Pad, a Cactus Breast Collar, Turtlebox Speakers, Justin Boots, Fast Back Rope Bag, and a Boot Barn gift card…
