EMSA Medical Heat Alert continues as medics respond to multiple heat-related illness calls

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – EMSA’s Medical Heat Alert issued on June 18 is continuing for the Oklahoma City area as medics respond to multiple heat-related illness calls.

According to EMSA, medics responded to 7 heat-related illness calls on Sunday, June 29. Five of those patients were taken to nearby hospitals.

Since EMSA issued the alert, medics have responded to a total of 42 suspected heat-related illness calls and took 31 of those patients to nearby hospitals. This does not include the patients treated during the Thunder celebration.
