OBN sends warning against Nitazene drugs

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Drugs becoming more prominent in Oklahoma has leaders at the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics investigating more into where they come from. Nitazenes are strong synthetic opioids that have been around since the 50s but recently have resurfaced and pose a new danger to Oklahomans.

According to the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission, Nitazenes have been identified in 4,300 law enforcement drug seizures across the nation since 2019.

There are at least 13 different kinds of Nitazenes. The common ones are, Isonitazene, Metonitazene, Protonitazene, Butonitazene, Etodesnitazene, Flunitazene, and N-pyrrolidinio etonitazene…
