OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — An investigation is underway following the death of a 58-year-old inmate Thursday afternoon at the Oklahoma County Detention Center (OCDC).
According to OCDC officials, at around 3:50 p.m. Thursday, a detention official and medical staff performed medical checks in a pod before finding 58-year-old inmate Everett Edwards unresponsive in his cell.

Life-saving measures were quickly performed on Edwards by the jail medical staff before EMSA paramedics and Oklahoma City firefighters arrived and continued those life-saving measures, before Edwards was transported to a local hospital, according to a press release.
