YPS implements student phone ban

The Yukon school district now complies with a new state law that bans students from using personal electronic devices during the school day except in specific circumstances.

The law enacted July 1 requires Oklahoma public school districts to implement a “bell-to-bell” prohibition on cell phone use by students during the 2025-26 school year.

Senate Bill 139, signed by Gov. Kevin Stitt, also restricts the use of smartwatches, smart headphones, personal laptops, tablets and smart glasses…
