OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – On Wednesday attorneys for former death row inmate Richard Glossip filed a motion asking the court to release Glossip in accordance to a deal reached with Attorney General Gentner Drummond in April 2023.
As part of the deal, Glossip would plead guilty to an accessory charge and receive a sentence of 45 years in prison with time served and good behavior credit that would make Glossip eligible for release immediately.
In the email exchange between Glossip’s attorneys’ and Drummond, details of the agreement are laid out along with pleading guilty to the lesser charge Glossip would agree to not sue the state of Oklahoma. Also included email communications Drummond sends an email on April 1, 2023 stating, “We are in agreement.”
