Popular Dog Bar ‘Bar K’ closes doors abruptly

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – It was a quick and surprising end to a business’s time here in the metro. Bar K, known for its indoor and outdoor dog areas, food, and drinks, is shutting its doors effective immediately.

The puppy play area was empty on Tuesday morning after they sent notices to their members and employees that they were closing down. It came to the surprise of many who had told KFOR they had already paid for their yearly membership with the company, while the company told them they “don’t have the resources to issue refunds.”

“I’m upset, so, wasted money,” member Victor Abyad said.

Abyad paid $700 for his yearly membership to the business for his two dogs. KFOR broke the news to him about the closing when he showed up to bring the pups by Tuesday morning. The company also blamed “inflationary costs and expenses, an extremely challenging labor market, and sharply reduced customer spending” along with parking challenges, construction projects, and traffic obstacles hindering access for the change…
