OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) —Dogs and cats were being adopted for the annual Clear The Shelters campaign at the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare on Saturday. This is a nationwide initiative where local animal shelters partner with NBC TV stations across the country.
“They’re going to have a microchip, and they’re also going to have all age-appropriate vaccines. That includes rabies if they’re old enough.” “We’ve had 307 adoptions so far, which is a very good month for us.” Said Animal Welfare manager Ronnie Schlabs
After Saturday is over, all animals at Oklahoma City Animal Welfare will go back to their regular price, which is $60, but there are still lots of animals that need homes.
Other participating shelters, like Friends For Life Animal Sanctuary in Clinton, are reducing adoption fees by 50%. The Clear the Shelters campaign continues through the end of August…
