OG&E began a critical infrastructure project to strengthen the electric grid and support growing energy demand in southwest Oklahoma City this month.
Upgrades to the transmission line along the west side of S. Pennsylvania Avenue from SW 119th Street to SW 134th Street mean improved reliability for current and future customers. The project, expected to last through the end of the year, includes replacing existing poles with larger steel structures and converting the line from single to double transmission lines.
Some northbound lanes may temporarily transition to a single lane to accommodate southbound traffic on S. Penn Avenue; however, access to neighborhoods and businesses will remain open. OG&E is coordinating closely with the City of Oklahoma City to minimize disruptions and keep the public informed…
