OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – Over 1,300 evictions have been filed in Oklahoma County so far in the month of August. One county official went as far as to call it a community crisis. Wednesday morning, however, a donation was given out in hopes of turning that around.
The check for the donation was quite big, and the need for it was even bigger. County commissioner Jason Lowe handed over $100,000 to Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, or LASO, to help fight evictions and keep Oklahomans off the streets.

“We have a check of ARPA funds that we have received and we would like to allocate those funds to legal aid,” Lowe said in a surprise press conference Wednesday morning.
