OHP highlights Oklahoma Highway Patrol Realignment Plan optimizing trooper placement

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KFOR) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is highlighting it’s Oklahoma Highway Patrol Realignment Plan that seeks to optimize the placement of State Troopers across Oklahoma.

OHP officials on “X” says, it will continue to patrol and serve the Oklahoma City and Tulsa Metro areas and has asked metro area police departments to take the lead on traffic accidents and fender benders within their city limits.

OHP explained the change ensures the following:

  • 24-hour coverage on rural interstates
  • Faster response times in rural areas
  • Increased Trooper presence in rural counties
