OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — A 67-year-old Oklahoma City day care owner has been convicted of obstructing a federal audit and two counts of federal program theft, U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester announced on Thursday.
Priscilla Orange was indicted on the charges in April and found guilty on Wednesday by a federal jury.
The attorney’s office says Orange owned and operated Rainbow Connection Child Care & Learning Center (Rainbow Connection), a child care center with multiple locations. Evidence presented at trial indicated that, in 2021, the Oklahoma Department of Education launched an audit of reimbursements provided to Rainbow Connection by the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which funded nutritious meals and snacks for low-income children at participating childcare centers…
