While ‘ArtNow’ has grown, it remains dedicated to highlighting talented Oklahoma artists

From Leticia R. Bajuyo’s massive, twisty sculpture “Loop: Gravity Repeated,” made from discarded CDs and DVDs, to Ebony Iman Dallas’ hand-carved and machined art puzzle “You Cannot Erase Us,” which comes apart to reveal moments of hidden history for the Sooner State’s Black communities, Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center is showing an eclectic array of imaginative work with “ArtNow 2025.”

This year’s “ArtNow” is the latest edition of Oklahoma Contemporary’s long-running biennial exhibition showcasing the works of a diverse array of artists currently based in the state.

“‘ArtNow’ originally started as a sales show, meaning artists would submit their work, and it would be a one-night sale. People could walk out with those works at the end of the evening, and that was it. It’s transformed over about the last decade where now what you’re seeing is really a biennial exhibition that’s focused on highlighting some of the most creative artists who are living and working in our state at the current time,” said Oklahoma Contemporary Executive Director Trent Riley…
