OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — An Oklahoma County jury convicted an 18-year-old man of first-degree murder connected to the 2024 deadly shooting of a 17-year-old at a Northwest Oklahoma City convenience store.
On Saturday, June 8, 2024, just before 11:40 a.m., officers with the Oklahoma City Police Department responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon at the Express Grocery store located near Northwest Expressway and West Wilshire Boulevard.
When the responding officers arrived at the scene, they found 17-year-old William Jackson dead.

During an investigation, detectives learned that 18-year-old Carnell Matheri had followed Jackson to the convenience store before a fight had broken out between the two. During the fight, Jackson was shot and killed, and Matheri had fled the scene.
Detectives were said to have identified Matheri as the suspect following tips that they received through Crime Stoppers. They also recovered evidence that included surveillance video and data from a cellphone that was found at the scene…
