Police equipment damaged in scuffle

EL RENO – A Yukon police officer’s body-worn camera mount and radio earpiece were destroyed as he scuffled with a woman who was caught in the act while stealing from a retail megastore.

Oklahoma City’s Alyssa Maurshae Pitts, age 23, was charged Sept. 10 in Canadian County District Court with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting an officer, malicious injury to property (valued under $1,000), and larceny of merchandise from a retailer (valued under $1,000). The first count is a felony; the other three counts are misdemeanors.

“On or about the 6th day of Sept. 2025, I did knowingly and willfully strike officer [Noble] Lybrand in the face,” according to Pitts’ signed guilty plea. “At the same time, I did knowingly resist officer Lybrand from arresting me and also destroyed his body-worn camera. At that time I also tried to steal merchandise from Walmart with the intent to defraud.”…
