An early morning shooting at Oklahoma State University’s Carreker East residential hall left three people hospitalized. According to News9, university police responded around 3:40 a.m. after reports of gunfire. Officers arrived to find several vehicles leaving the area but no victims at the scene.
Police confirmed that one victim is an OSU student, while the other two are not affiliated with the university. Two of the injured underwent surgery at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, and the third was treated and released from Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. KOCO reported that OSU Police Chief Michael Beckner stated there is no ongoing threat to campus.
Investigators said the shooting occurred after a large private off-campus party ended between 2:30 and 3 a.m. A dispute among several individuals led to gunfire that began in a breezeway, continued in a parking lot, and ended on a nearby street.
