This Day in Oklahoma History: ‘America’s first cowgirl’ born in 1885

MULHALL, Okla. (KSWO) – On this day in 1885, Lucille Mulhall, who many know as “America’s first cowgirl,” was born.

Lucille was born in Mulhall, named after her father Zach Mulhall, on their family ranch. Throughout her childhood, she learned about riding, roping and cattle herding.
