ALVA, Okla. (KFOR) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting after a welfare check turned deadly.
According to OSBI, the Woods County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the Alva Police Department, responded to a welfare check near North Second Street and Mill Street after receiving a 911 call.
When officers arrived, contact was made with 26-year-old Jalin Scott Willyard. Police say that when speaking to Willyard, he displayed a firearm and pointed the weapon towards officers, resulting in the shooting.
Life-saving measures were performed by police, but Willyard died on the scene…
