OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma City Utilities Department is giving customer support to those who find themselves in financial hardship during the federal government shutdown.
“Our goal is to meet people where they are and find reasonable solutions,” Utilities Director Chris Browning said. “We can’t eliminate every challenge, but we can listen, act with compassion, and help customers navigate a tough situation while maintaining the reliability of our services.”
LIST: Food banks, churches, and others providing help to Oklahomans during government shutdown
Affected customers should email [email protected] before they miss a payment. In the email:
- Write “shutdown” in the subject line.
- Include your name and your utilities account number or service address.
- Explain how the shutdown directly affects your ability to pay.
Emails are accepted to keep phone lines open for water and sewer emergencies, the city says.
Temporary assistance is available only to Oklahoma City Utilities customers…
