Beloved Texas Icon Buc-ee’s Suing Oklahoma Clothing Brand for Copyright Infringement

Texas and Oklahoma always have beef, but now a clothing brand in Oklahoma is about to feel the wrath of the Texas beaver.

Nuthuggers Getting Sued by Buc-ee’s

Above is the logo for a company called Nut Huggers. According to their Facebook page, they have been operating out of Oklahoma City since 2022. They make underwear that…hugs your nuts. The owner Jarrad Hewett designed the logo with the cartoon squirrel hugging a pair of acorns. That logo has him in a legal battle with the beaver in Texas.

According to KFOR, Jarrad received a letter from Buc-ee’s corporate that he can no longer use a logo of his. This logo had a squirrel in a baseball hat doing a bicep pose. Photo of that below.

Jarrad says Buc-ee’s owns the rights to all cartoon rodents with a side profile in a baseball hat. He says that he also can’t use the colors red, yellow, and brown to depict a rodent. Even though Jarred has removed all of that, he claims Buc-ee’s still wants more and now he’s fighting back.

“I think that it’s time that somebody stands up and says, this isn’t right. There’s no infringement here,” said Hewett. “You all don’t have the right to be doing this and take away people’s local livelihoods.”…
