WASHINGTON, D.C. (KFOR) – Less than a week after the government reopened, the first order of business for the U.S. Department of Agriculture was welcoming news for farmers.
On Monday, the department announced that it will release billions of dollars in disaster assistance for farmers and ranchers recovering from natural disasters.
“USDA will deliver, in total, more than $16 billion in Congressionally approved assistance to America’s farmers,” said Stephen Vaden, USDA Deputy Secretary.
