Residents at NW OKC apartment recall “scary” Saturday fire

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Residents at the Indigo Apartments are sharing their experiences, which they can only describe as ‘scary’, after a fire broke out on Saturday night.

“I was in my room, and I thought, like, someone was smoking, because I was just smelling smoke,” said one apartment resident.

“It was pretty scary hearing all the sirens,” said Ginni McWilliams, an apartment resident. “I was worried that we were going to have to be evacuated.”

Those who live at the complex shared this video with News 4 showing the thick smoke that filled the air and the flames shooting out of the building right across from them.

“We could see the flames, and the smoke was really bad. We stood outside to see it, and it was like really, really bad,” said one apartment resident.

Oklahoma City Fire Department said the call came in around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday…
