OG&E requests commissioner to recuse himself after comments about utility company

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) has filed a request to have Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Todd Hiett recused from all proceedings dealing with its proposed construction projects.

For the past two months, the commissioners have been hearing testimony in the case involving OG&E and its request to build two new natural gas turbines at the Horseshoe Lake Power Plant in Oklahoma County. The cost is estimated to be $506 million, which will be passed onto ratepayers.

OG&E’s attorney filed the request on November 26, 2025. It referenced his comments during recent meetings, saying that they are “raising concerns about his ability to remain impartial.”…
