An Oklahoma City family has experienced a horrific tragedy just weeks before Christmas. Fillmore Elementary School first grader Adrian Salgado got off the bus with friends after school on December 3, 2025. Everything seemed fine until the day took a devastating turn. Adrian apparently tried to run across the street as the bus was turning. The bus hit the 6-year-old boy and ran him over in the street. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and took him to an area hospital. Sadly, little Adrian succumbed to injuries received in the tragic accident. Now his family wonders how life will ever be the same without their little boy.
Two boys walking with Adrian stopped, but the first grader ran to try to cross the street after getting off the bus, KOCO reported. The side of the bus knocked Adrian to the ground and ran over him with the back wheels. Investigators cleared the bus driver of any wrongdoing.
“Our thoughts are with the student’s family, loved ones, the first responders and our entire Fillmore community as we grieve this tremendous loss. Beginning tomorrow, we will have dedicated counselors and additional support staff on site to support our students and staff who may need assistance,” Oklahoma City Public Schools shared in a statement obtained by KOCO…
