Two teen girls are dead after a pickup truck careened off a rural Oklahoma road and fell approximately 30 feet into a creek bed. Two other girls in the vehicle were injured, one critically.
The tragedy occurred on Monday, Dec. 15, just after 8 p.m. local time, when the four teens were traveling in a vehicle on Charter Oak Road near May Avenue in Logan County when it left the roadway, hit a bridge guardrail and plunged into the creek bed, Lt. Mark Southall of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms to PEOPLE. Two teen passengers, ages 14 and 16, died, officials say. The 17-year-old driver and another 16-year-old passenger were injured.
Authorities do not yet know the cause of the crash and are continuing to investigate. They are not releasing the names of the victims because they’re juveniles, Southall says. Not all of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts, according to the crash report, local outlets said…
