Serving in the U.S. Navy in a landlocked state may be a puzzler to some but not Tempe native Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Morgan.
The 2007 Marcos de Niza High graduate joined the Navy 13 years ago, continuing a family tradition in one way but going on his own term s in another.
“My grandfather, father and one of my brothers all served, which was a big influence for me to join,” Morgan said. “I am the first one to join the Navy, though. I also wanted to travel, grow, mature, and learn a valuable trade while serving my country.”…
