OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A heated debate in Oklahoma City came to a conclusion Tuesday morning at the city council meeting in Oklahoma City. Bike lanes were set to expand on Classen Blvd. at one point, but now, that won’t be happening.
The current bike lanes on Classen will remain the only ones after a council vote essentially won’t allow any more in the street there. The news came much to a disappointment to cyclists, who said they’ll continue the fight into the future.
“It’s inappropriate for city council to come into our communities and tell us that we’re not allowed to make decisions about what type of infrastructure gets built along Classen,” Ben Ilarazza said.
