KOSU, Oklahoma’s flagship NPR station, is hiring an additional Indigenous Affairs reporter to increase coverage of tribal issues across Oklahoma as a 2026 Report for America host newsroom partner.
“We recognize that Oklahoma and the country at large need more Indigenous journalists,” said KOSU executive director Rachel Hubbard. “Partnering with Report For America will help us further culturally accurate and fair coverage of tribes and Indigenous people in Oklahoma.”
Report for America places journalists in local newsrooms to report on undercovered issues and communities. The partnership model pays up to half of the journalist’s salary and provides ongoing training and mentorship, peer networking, and memberships to select professional organizations…
