After a severe winter storm blanketed Oklahoma with ice and snow, temperatures are expected to stay in the single digits through Sunday and into the week, and travel conditions throughout the state will remain hazardous.
The storm is part of a major, widespread winter system that’s likely to spread damaging ice and heavy snow from Oklahoma into the mid-Atlantic states. According to AccuWeather, the volume of snow and sleet could greatly impact communities not accustomed to winter weather, such as the southern Plains and Mississippi Valley, and schools or child care centers will likely close.
