After working alongside Meredith Kimani behind the scenes on several movie and television projects over the past few years, Oklahoma City filmmaker and production assistant Laron Chapman wasn’t surprised when she became an enthusiastic cheerleader for his planned thriller “To Make the World Quiet.”
“She came to a lot of my fundraisers, and she was going to be the location manager on my film. That was something we were just discussing; I probably spoke to her three or four days before this all happened,” said Chapman, an OKC director and screenwriter who has been crafting the follow-up to his 2018 independent film “You People.”
“As soon as I heard the news, at first, I thought of her kids … but I also immediately just thought of all of the different ways that she had touched my life and the lives of all the people in the Oklahoma City film community — and how much her absence is going to be felt on film sets, because she was one of a kind.”…
