(NEXSTAR) – Indianapolis-based fast-food chain Steak ‘n Shake is planning to ‘86 all microwaves from its kitchens by mid-April, according to a message shared to the company’s social media pages.
“Steak n Shake is removing all microwaves from its restaurants. We expect every unit to be microwave-free by April 15,” the company wrote in a statement shared to Facebook, Instagram and X this week. “Quality restaurants don’t need microwaves. It is part of our journey to improve food and use traditional methods of cooking only.”
The company ended its message with the phrase “Eat Real Food,” echoing words spoken by current U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at a White House press conference earlier this year.
