OKC Streetcar service set for temporary disruption Feb. 18-22

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma City Streetcar service is set to be suspended and replaced temporarily with a bus shuttle February 18-22, the City of Oklahoma City says.

City officials say the four-day closure is a response to work-related construction of the OKC New Arena. The Bricktown Loop will not run during this service suspension, only the Downtown Loop.

Riders can expect EMBARK buses to shuttle riders every 25 minutes along the OKC Streetcar Downtown Loop during regular operating hours.

Finally, significant rainfall / moisture is on the way. Our next storm system brings potential rainfall and also a low end severe threat.

The street closure details are as follows:

  • One eastbound lane on Sheridan Avenue from Ron Norick Boulevard to South E.K. Gaylord Boulevard will be closed. Detour signs will be in place to ease traffic flow.
  • One westbound lane on Reno Avenue from South E.K. Gaylord Boulevard to Robinson Avenue will be closed. Detour signs will be in place to ease traffic flow.

According to the city, streetcar rides are free through July 5 with no ticket required…
